'De verzorgingsstaat gaat niet het klimaatvraagstuk oplossen'

‘We kijken teveel naar de overheid die moet zorgen voor het oplossen van problemen die wij op de agenda zetten. We hebben er veel mee bereikt, maar ik kom steeds meer tot de conclusie dat die verzorgingsstaat zelf onhoudbaar is, unsustainable. De verzorgingsstaat gaat niet het klimaatvraagstuk oplossen of voor duurzame voeding en landbouw zorgen. Dat moeten we zelf doen, wij mensen, consumenten, reizigers, onderzoekers, werknemers, ondernemers en bewoners.'
